The beginning of a long collaboration began in 1990 between Mercedes and AMG. Still to this day, these two companies work together on vehicles. Mercedes brought the luxury, while AMG brought the performance.

Starting with the W202 C-Class, the first ever Mercedes-AMG vehicle was produced: the C36 AMG. In total, the Mercedes W202 lineup featured three AMG vehicles: the C36 AMG, C43 AMG, and produced in extremely limited numbers, the C55 AMG.

Most of these W202 AMG models were produced for the European market. Not many of them were originally sold in the North American markets, and even fewer were imported. Below you will find a model comparison for the W202 C-Class AMG vehicles. For more about the W202, read our History of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
