Hi, I’m Jacob.
Mercedes-Benz enthusiast · Owner · Classic car professional
I started Mercedes Blogger because I couldn’t find one place that covered the Mercedes models I actually care about — the ones worth buying, owning, and keeping on the road.
About Me
I’m Jacob Stobnicki, the writer behind every article on this site. I’ve been passionate about Mercedes-Benz for as long as I can remember, and that passion eventually turned into something more hands-on.
I currently own a 1992 Mercedes 190E 2.3 — a W201 that I’ve learned a great deal from firsthand. Beyond that, I work professionally in the classic Mercedes world, spending my days around vehicles like a 1998 SL600, a 1988 560SL, and a pair of E320 Cabriolets. That daily hands-on experience with real cars, real parts, and real problems is what shapes the way I write about these vehicles.
When I write about common issues, buying advice, or what to look for on a used model, it’s not research from behind a desk — it’s drawn from experience actually working with these cars.
What I Write About
Vehicle Overviews
In-depth guides on specific Mercedes generations — specs, model variants, production history, and what they’re like to own today.
Buying Guides
Practical advice on which year to buy, which models to avoid, and what to look for before handing over money for a used Mercedes.
DIY Tutorials
Step-by-step repair and maintenance guides written for owners who want to work on their own cars, not just take them to a dealer.
AMG & Performance
Detailed breakdowns of AMG variants across generations — engines, specs, and how they compare within the same model line.
Why Mercedes-Benz?
The models I focus on are the ones that are genuinely worth owning — vehicles from an era when Mercedes built things to last, when the engineering was overbuilt and the interiors were genuinely special. The W201, W221, W140, R107 — these aren’t just collector cars, they’re cars people still drive every day, maintain themselves, and search for buying advice on. That’s the audience I write for.
